I was born on the island of Curacao in 1952 and raised in a small fisherman village on the island of Sint Maarten. As a young boy I spent a lot of time on the local fishing boats and many afternoons you could find me on the rocks near Maho Beach watching the then few landings of aircraft at the Princess Juliana Airport. At the age of 18, I obtained my PPL as an officer of the Civil Air Patrol in Curacao. In 1971, I joined the Royal Netherlands Airforce and started with photography while at the Royal Militairy Academy in Breda, The Netherlands. In 1985, I returned to Sint Maarten as a Computer Software Engineer and picked up digital photography in 2004 during the yearly Heineken Regatta. During that year I also started again with aircraft spotting at the Princess Juliana International Airport. In 2008 , I returned to Europe where I lived in Belgium. In May 2010, I graduated at the Fotovakschool in the Netherlands. I am specialized in Action and Sports photography. During the summer months in europe I visited the most important Airshows and Regattas in the Benelux. During winter time I conducted workshops and shot sports events in the Caribbean. In February 2012, I returned to the island of Sint Maarten / Saint Martin.  Since May 2016, I live on my island of birth Curacao (Korsow).
